In the last issue of the Saver we talked about the Seeds of Hope, an agency that provides support for individuals dealing with domestic abuse.  Their local phone number is (319) 272-1400, and toll-free 888-746-HOPE (4673).  Reach them online at http://www.seedsofhopeiowa.com.

Today we will list other local agencies that can be of help to one who has been abused.  Hopefully this will not apply to you, but perhaps you know someone in such a situation, and you could share this information with them.  If it does apply to you, please seek the help you need.

Shelters:

Can be used if there is an immediate need to exit a living space or unsafe situation.  A protective and safe environment during the day, but people cannot stay overnight.  Run by volunteers, the House provides local phone access, referral to community services
